ANAMBRA WEB3 CONFERENCE 3.0: THE NEXT WAVE OF DECENTRALISATION

Awka is set to host another major tech gathering this weekend as developers, students, startup founders and technology enthusiasts prepare to converge at Stanel Dome, along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka, for the Anambra Web3 Conference 3.0.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this conference will be held under the theme, “The Next Wave of Decentralization.”
The Conference arrives at a time when blockchain, digital finance and decentralised technologies are attracting growing global attention which raises an important question: what role can cities like Awka play in shaping the future of Africa's digital economy?
Although Web3 is oftentimes linked to cryptocurrency, its applications go beyond that to financial services, digital ownership, software development and online businesses and while these areas keep developing, understanding the technology is becoming very important for people interested in the future of digital innovation.

The organisers tries to bring these conversations closer to participants by involving organisations and industry players who understand the opportunities, challenges and policies shaping the ecosystem. This year's conference has Roqqu, a Nigerian digital asset platform, as its headline sponsor, while the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) is participating as an ecosystem partner.
SiBAN's participation will bring attention to the policy and regulatory side of the industry, with discussions expected to cover cryptoregulation, responsible adoption, user protection and ethical practices. Its President, Barr. Mela Claude Ake, and Vice President for Policy, Regulation and Ethics, Ayo Shonibare, are among the representatives expected to speak.

The discussions are designed to give participants more than an opportunity to listen but also learnm Keynote presentations and panel sessions will bring different industry perspectives to the table, while a hackathon will give developers the chance to collaborate, showcase their skills and compete for prizes worth millions of naira. Networking sessions will also allow participants to connect with founders, engineers and potential collaborators.

The organisers' effort to bring more people into the ecosystem has also gone beyond the conference venue. Through visits to four schools, including Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), the team has introduced students to Web3 and encouraged them to explore opportunities in the digital space. Laptops and power banks were among the technology incentives featured during the outreach.
According to the organisers, more than 1,800 people have registered already for the event, reflecting strong interest in this year's edition.
With students already reached through the campus outreach and industry professionals expected at Stanel Dome, the conference brings different groups into the same conversation. For Anambra's growing technology community, this creates room for people to learn directly from industry players, build useful connections and explore areas of the digital economy they may not have previously considered.

Ultimately, what matters is how far these conversations go after the conference. The knowledge shared, relationships formed and ideas developed could help participants take their next steps within the industry.
Those interested in attending the free conference can complete their registration ahead of Saturday through "the event registration page" (https://luma.com/d328hvsj).
