Digital Products

Not every product is made in a factory. Some of them are made in the imagination.
For centuries, wealth was measured by what people could touch, things like gold, farmland, buildings, machines. Then the world changed.
Today, some of the most valuable products on earth have no weight. They cannot be stacked in a warehouse or shipped in containers. Yet millions of people use them every day.
A line of code became a search engine.
An idea became a mobile app.
A simple interface became a global marketplace.
Africa is no stranger to this transformation.

In 2016, Odunayo Oweniyi, Somto Ifezue and Joshua Chibueze, three young Nigerians noticed something that millions of people had accepted as normal: saving money consistently was difficult. Instead of writing another article about financial discipline, they built PiggyVest, a digital platform that helps people save and invest with greater consistency. What they created was not a physical product that could sit on a shelf. It was a digital solution to a human habit.
This is what makes digital products remarkable.
Their value is not measured by their weight.
It is measured by the problems they remove.
A digital product can cross borders without a passport. It can reach millions without opening a single store. It can create value without consuming more land, more steel, or more concrete. The only raw material it truly requires is thought.
The countries that will lead tomorrow may not be those with the deepest mines or the tallest buildings.
They will be those that learn to turn imagination into products the rest of the world cannot live without.
In today’s digital age, the most valuable export is no longer what leaves a country's ports.
It is what leaves the human mind.
